An utility for the .NET forms application is featured in an article at The Code Project (link below). It is a simple directory scanner which operates in a separate worker thread and then updates a status label that doesn't cause the UI to hang.
It is also a utility that is meant to give a simple yet concise demonstration on successfully implementing custom events and threading in a .NET applications.
