Google was right, Microsoft is wrong. The internet was given to the world for free when invented and therefore the purpose was for free speech and free exchange of ideas. In China, the government is actively trying to control a segment of freedom due to it's perceived threat to the existing seat of control. Therefore, Google was right in it's leaving China when so many other western businesses were dying to get in there. Microsoft is desperate to gain back market share and in the effort to achieve higher gains, is willing to look over glaring freedom abuses in order to achieve profit.
